Accessibility statement

Current status

needful-apps is committed to making this website accessible. We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, conformance level AA. This website is partially conformant: the items listed below are implemented and verified, a full audit with assistive technology is still pending.

The most recent self-assessment took place on 21 July 2026. It covered automated contrast measurement of all text and interface elements, page structure and behaviour at 400 percent zoom. Testing with screen readers by people with disabilities is planned but has not yet taken place.

What we have implemented

• All text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, large text and controls at least 3:1
• The entire website can be operated with the keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus ring
• Skip link to the main content, semantic heading structure and landmarks for screen readers
• All meaningful images have alternative text, decorative icons are hidden from screen readers
• Forms have associated labels, required fields are announced and errors are explained in plain language
• The site works up to 400 percent zoom without horizontal scrolling and functions without JavaScript
• Motion is reduced when your system requests reduced motion
• The language of every page is declared, German and English versions are linked to each other

Known limitations

• Our technical articles are currently available in German only. The English site links to them and labels them accordingly.
• Screenshots from our log server Leif show interfaces with dense tables. Captions describe the content but do not fully replace the data shown. On request we provide this information in an accessible format.
• Online appointment booking runs through our product Kalendful on a separate domain, where its own accessibility statement applies.
• Testing with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) by affected users is still pending. Until then we cannot conclusively guarantee accessibility for this group.

Legal context

This statement is a voluntary self-declaration. As a micro-enterprise, needful-apps is exempt from the service obligations of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) under section 3 paragraph 3. We implement the requirements anyway, because our clients in public administration and industry depend on accessible offerings and because it is simply the right thing to do.
